What is a production company clip?
A production company provides the physical basis for works in the realms of the performing arts, new media art, film, television, radio, and video. They often have a clip at the start of a film to show the audience that they're responsible for funding/producing the film. Normally when an audience sees a well known production company's clip, they feel more reassured that the film will be good because it was made by a successful, famous company.
With this in mind we decided that it would be really important for our production company clip to look really professional.

our original production company clip...
This was the first production company clip we made. As you can see, it is not very good and doesn't look professional. We feel this happened because:
-We started trying to make the video without much of a plan
-We picked the music first before anything else, this made it tricky to find the other aspects that fit the music
-The background we chose isn't very good quality
-We could have chose a better logo that is better linked to the genre of our company

Our NEW (CURRENT) production company clip...
Our success criteria...To make our production company clip, we considered several different things. We planned a success criteria that said we needed to include:
-music -a title -some kind of eye catching movement |
how did it go?We wanted our production company logo to link to our horror theme visually so we tried to make it look and sound scary. To do this we found an animation of a red, bloody dagger on Youtube. We tried to match the colour on the dagger to the title so that it linked to the theme of blood and gore and informs an audience on what kind of film they can expect to see from our production company. The dark, scary backing track also relates to our over all theme and works with the colours and the dagger shape to show that the genre of Twisted Productions is horror.

What could we have done to make it even better?-We could have been more creative with the use of sound effects to enhance the movement of the dagger
-We could have found a font that was more linked to the genre of the institution. |
Here are some examples of other production company clips...
Blumhouse Productions was made by Jason Blum who made the 'Paranormal Activities' series, 'Sinister', 'Ouija', 'Insidious', 'Dark Skies' and 'The Purge'. Their production company clip is made with a sequence of scary paranormal events which link to the films in which Blumhouse Productions make. In the sequence it shows white light through an open door, while a chair is spinning mid air, the door slams shut and the camera pans to the other side of the room where a book is seen coming towards you, the camera spins quickly showing glimpses of the room and then focuses on a little girl in a white dress, walking with a lullaby in the background. The roof is seen to crack and crumble, then panning down to the swinging light bulb and the production company title. The introduction logo is actually quite complicated to make while not being hard to follow as a viewer, it's hard to make because there's a lot happening in the logo, and the camera angles change rapidly. However, this makes it interesting for a viewer to watch!
Dark Castle entertainment is an American film production label, it is linked with Silver Pictures, a production house formally affiliated with Warner Bros, now affiliated with Universal Studios. This production company has been apart of many famous films like 'Orphan', 'House Of Wax', 'House On Haunted Hill' and 'The Reaping'. It was founded by Robert Zemeckis, Joel Silver and Gilbert Adler. The sequence itself involves thunder and lightening which is stereo-typically linked with horror, during the thunder and lightening you see a ghoul which is then shown on the top of a castle. The castle turns into a silhouette in purple clouds with the yellow moon behind it.

Some of these are scary because they're supposed to link to the kinds of films that the companies produce: horrors.
We have tried to incorporate horror into our production company to add to the eery atmosphere.
