Frame shots carefully This covers you cutting out important objects and parts of the actors.
Use appropriate props and locations Using a sensible location ensures more safety and no disruption
Always make a risk assessment As part of managing your project you must control the risks in the environment you're filming in. To do this you need to think about what might cause harm to people and decide whether you are taking reasonable steps to prevent that harm.
Keep the storyline simple Ensuring that you don't overcomplicate the storyline makes it easier for the audience to understand and then be hooked.
Dont's Deface graves or be disrespectful to the environment around Throughout filming you shouldn't ruin other peoples family members graves, this is because you are violating there property and it is disrespectful. if you were to be shooting a horror movie like us then an alternative would be to go out and buy a grave face/grave.
Film near loud areas you shouldn't film near loud areas this is because if you have a conversation in your filming and there are cars around you then you are most likely to hear the cars rather than the conversation because you are going to be very quiet. Also it makes a distraction in your filming and makes it look unprofessional.
Copy other horrors You shouldn't copy other horrors made by a company, this is because it comes under copyright, which is illegal. Also it shows the exam board that you don't have any imagination.
Use storyboards Using a storyboard to plan how the scene will progress helps you to stay on track and work out how you want your scene to look.
Use close up shots This brings the audience's focus to a specific object or person.
Stick to the brief Sticking to what you've been asked to do and the aims you've created will mean that your work, even if it's terrible, can still be marked!
Think carefully about camera angles and lighting Inappropriate camera angles and lighting might ruin the effect of your storyline and confuse the audience.
Film the wrong way round Filming the wrong way round will cause a lot of problems when you come to editing your clips, as they will be rotated the wrong way. To prevent this from happening you should use a tripod, this will also help to keep the camera still when you are filming.
Zoom If you decide that you want to zoom into a clip, then do it as several shots, do not zoom in on the same scene, this is because it looks unprofessional, whilst filming. Also if you do it as 2 or 3 separate ones it gives it a better affect and makes it more defined.
Use the same shots for a long period of time You shouldn't use the same shot continually, this is because it gets really boring to watch after a couple of minutes. Also it looks really unprofessional, like you don't know how to use any of the other shots, or you don't know what they are.
